Godzilla, I would not totally disagree with your statement that the spirit rules the flesh. Certainly, if you are robbing a bank, or committing adultery, it is not your body which is making those decisions, even though your body carries them out.

However, I think sexual identity is much more complex. Very small children who are homosexual usually realize there is something wrong with them from the time of their first memory. Do you think tiny children are sinful? It would be totally illogical for anyone to choose homosexuality, because homosexual children feel confused, are often in conflict and pain, and are ridiculed by their schoolmates.

It is clear from your post that you consider homosexuality an aberration, with which I would disagree, first of all. It is definitely a VARIATION, but we can see from all the homosexuality and bisexuality in animals that God created a variety of sexual behaviors.

Sexual identity seems to be mostly genetic, with some evidence of prenatal hormonal inbalances in the womb as well which may cause it in some babies. You mention a flat earth. Some cultures believed the earth was flat, and that you would drop off into the void if you sailed too far out to sea. Now we have science, which has offered conclusive proof that the earth is round.

Do all the conservative Christians who insist that homosexuality is a sin, when science is about to prove conclusively that is is predetermined, also still argue that the Earth is flat? I don't think so!!!

I don't think I am just a piece of flesh, so don't worry about me. I think I have a body, a mind, and a spirit. My spirit and my mind definitely decide what my body does, and my conscience lets me know if I am doing something wrong. But to insist that basic sexual identity is willful behavior just doesn't logically compute for me.

I am curious. When science has conclusively proved that homosexuality is related to hormones and genetics, will you change your mind?

Or does your belief system overwhelm your mind and spirit?
