too few shares outstanding and they'll have no shares to buy other companies. If they've got 110mil shs, 1/10 leaves them just 11mil.

One of the interesting aspects of a reverse split: a company with 110 mm shares doing a 1-10 leaves 11 mm O/S; however, the AUTHORIZED NUMBER OF SHARES IS UNCHANGED.

Thus, they can still do acquisitions; in fact, they can do even more...and for less shares!.
Just like WCOM...from Jackson, MS coffee shop board meetings to MCI in, what, 15 yrs?

The bad side is certain unscrupulous cos do reverses do unload higher priced shares into the float and dilute to pay their operating expenses.
