Brazil posts federal budget surplus in January Reuters, Monday, April 06, 1998 at 17:22 BRASILIA, April 6 (Reuters) - Brazil's federal government posted a primary budget surplus of 629.9 million reais in January, equivalent to 0.9 percent of gross domestic product, the National Treasury said Monday.
