Jim
amd k6 upto this point was aiming at home computer market. Would you pay 100%+ more for pII-333 system vs k6-266 all other things equal? Would you pay that much more for a system that gives 10-15% improvement in performance over k6-266 for your home?
I just saw in a local shop k6-200 full systems without a monitor for $400. Now, find me a system with pii-233 at the same price.
When k6-3d/3d+ would come out and would be 30% faster at the same clock speed would you say that pII-333 is better than k6-3d+-300 even though that k6-3d+ would be faster?
I am not trying to put pII down but rather compare price/performance ratio. I would guess that if k6-3d+ would be faster than pii it is a safe assumption to say that k7(due end of year) would be faster than pII. k7 would address high end business market.
It is not what number is on the chip but rather what performance can you get for your $$$.
