Fuchi:

<<If AMD did have 70% yield from 0.25u processor, how many K6 does AMD
could manufacture for the rest of the year?>>

AMD projected to make 15M K6 in 1998 before the spectacular yield news. With 70% yield they should hit close to 20M K6 without the IBM Fab.

<<All early benchmarks showed that AMD K6-300 on 100Mhz runs faster and cooler than PII-300. AMD might turn profitable with .25 K6 next quarter.>>

We might see K6-300 laptop sooner than PII-300.

<<Would you exchange 1 AMD for 1 INTC when INTC=AMD? Please provide
your reasons with answers.>>

When that day come you better get rid of all the INTC shares you own.
Technical analysis should tell you to sell before it gets there.

Fuchi and all AMD'ers There is one thing about AMd yield and abiltiy to produce chips that most analist could be overlooking. Fab 25 was scheduled to increase wafer starts in 98 by 50% over 97 capacity. This was pointed outin one of Alberts posts by Lehman Bros in one of Lehman updates on AMd last year. AMD plan for fab 25 was to increase wafer capacity by 100% over 97 capacity in two increments, therby getting fab 25 to full capacity or megafab capacity as Paul would call it. AMD may have added an additional production line to the fab. For 99 AMd was to add still another production line giving yet another 25% increase in wafer start capacity. This may account for the additional production. I know SpeedFam Phoenix AZ based (AMD's largest customer) have been very busy installing new layer polishers at fab 25. AMD my be ready to surprise alot of people who are following AMD's foot steps closly.
