I used to live out in Manitoba and when people were joking with each other they used expressions like "You're dumber than a bag of hammers" or simply called them a "pylon". If you have ever seen the Lay's Potato chip commercial, the team Mark Messier joins up with is called "The Pylons" and he finds it hilarious. I've had to explain what it meant to a few people.
