Christine, you won't ever find me defending Catholic so-called priests who molest children. They should be tried in a court of law if there is evidence someone has abused a child, just like any person, and be subjected to whatever punishment the laws of the land provide for. Again I have to summon the words from the scripture: "Many are called, but few are chosen", etc. I've quoted other verses to you before, but you've apparently forgotten, and I don't feel like digging up the verses again. But the upshot is this: Not everyone who claims to be a Christian is necessarily a Christian, but God will be a righteous judge. Salvation is between each person's heart and God, and God knows where each person stands. Also, I as a Lutheran obviously have no say-so over what happens in the Catholic church. you are attempting to hold out Christians as more moral and well behaved and monogamous than non-Christians Huh? It is you Christine, who is here on the Ask God thread, trying to tell us what guidelines we should have on morality, both on the homosexual question and: Many people, heterosexual and homosexual, tend to experiment with different partners in their teens and early twenties. I can assure you, Christine, that your moral guidelines as given above do not stand up to the light of holy scripture, which is what Christians use as a moral guide to attempt to live as God wants us to. Christians are not perfect of course, and do fall short of the glory of God. Nevertheless, Christians are not scripturally free to pursue all manner of fleshly lusts. I can assure you also that I do reject your personal moral guidelines, and that they do fall very short of what I follow. I guess that just makes us different. I'll make you a deal, Christine: You don't tell me what my moral guidelines should be, and I won't tell you want your guidelines should be. It is you who insist that Christians are wrong in their moral guidelines, so you have been telling us this. My wish: That you cease and desist in trying to run my and other Christians' moral lives. It's NONE of your business what behavior I hold as moral and virtuous.
