Oracle will Support Java in All Software Products

Redwood Shores, California, April 15 (Bloomberg) --
(http://www.bloomberg.com/bbn/hwy/front_hwy.html)

"...Oracle Corp. said it will make all of its software products compatible with the Java programming language, an effort to speed the adoption of the fledging technology among corporations.

Oracle said Java will be able to work with all its database and applications software on Unix-based systems, Microsoft Corp.'s Windows NT or other operating systems that Oracle operates on. The company also said it will unveil new Java tools, or software to develop programs that run on its database..."

With IBM and Oracle supporting the JAVA standard, Sunw is positioned well for growing this segment of their business. Look for slow but growing revenues in the next several years from JAVA. As the transition continues from PC based applications to server centric products, IMO JAVA will be one of the building blocks integrated into new customer applications.

Remember Sunw's main cash cows are the high end server and storage products which are also sold to customers when a new custom system/application is configured and installed.
