K.M Strickler,

An interesting point you raise. The only answer I have is comparing the shopping experience at a SuperStore Walmart vs. going to 5 to 10 small stores for the same products. Walmart is able to sell their products cheaper (economy of scale), and the shopping experience is far more convenient and less time consuming. If Walmart fails to delivier than consumers can easily shop else where...either at small stores or Target, Kmart, etc... It's to Walmart advantage to continue good service and prices.

To a simplified extent I think you can apply this example to the computer industry. It is to the advantage of the company to provide quality service and it is also to the advantage of the consumer to buy from one of these superstores.
