I remember when I first went to India they always put rocks in the rice to make it weigh out more when you bought it.

If you haven't tried "rocky rice" it isn't a treat. You learnt to chew very, very slowly. At the end of every meal there was a small pile of rocks left on your plate.

That and you checked for cobras in the loo before you squated. A friend of mine found she had 26 cobras living in her roof thatch.
