MOT says: bad news today, bad news for a few more quarters:

Briefing sees MOT down a few pts tomorrow
Motorola: After the close company announced Q1 earnings of $0.23, in line with downwardly revised estimates but well below year-ago gain of $0.47... Should also be noted that company's estimate fell by more than 40% over past month... Worse than headline figure was fact that company announced that soft conditions could persist for several more quarters... Second quarter sales expected to be flat with earnings expected to come in well below street estimates... Co. sees Q2
results flat to slightly below Q1 levels... Consensus view prior to warning was $0.50... Worse than the Q2 warning was the lack of any concrete restructuring news... Company lived down to history of
underperforming street estimates... Don't expect street to shrug off this report, as it has done with others... Briefing sees stock down a few points.
