I2- In re: "Only after studying the portfolio did I realize the size
of my capital gains - - HUGE! I really don't want to pay taxes
on those gains this year. Hmmm, what a dilemma."

Aye, a dilemma "devoutly to be wished" by most. :-)

As a sidebar, I offer the story of my mother-in-law who never buys
a lottery ticket. She worries mightily about the taxes she must pay
should her ticket pay off. No one can convince that woman other-
wise.

Regards.

Your dilemma reminds me a little of the lady who called last week and said "I have a problem!" She went on to explain that she has over $1.5 million in investments and an annual income around $100,000. I wanted to tell her, "Lady, you may have a question but you DO NOT have a problem."
