<<When you quote Bible verses to me, they have very little meaning.>>

That's usually the case for the ungodly.

There is no one truth. But that is your belief, not mine: You believe the ONE truth of the statement that "there is no one truth". So you see, you're no different than me, in that you see your beliefs as right and "true".

When you quote Bible verses to me, they have very little meaning.

Well then would you do me a favor and stop trying to tell us what the Bible says, and how it should be interpreted, and how Jesus would have acted, if you're not sincerely interested in even knowing how Jesus would have acted?

Don't put words in Jesus's mouth, or deeds to his credit, if you aren't really interested in what the Bible has to say about him. Jesus is a central Biblical figure, so if you want to try to say how Jesus would have acted, it seems to me that you might want to check the Bible, since that is the holy book by which Christians use to form their beliefs of what Jesus did or didn't do.

Now you're trying to tell me that if some modern "Christians" have come to accept some moral behavior as okay in their eyes, that I also should modify my own personal moral code to fall in line with what I view to be the least common denominator. No thanks. How about you changing your view to match mine? I'm not budging in my religious beliefs, so if we are to come to an agreement, you will need to modify your beliefs to match mine, if that is so ultra-important to you. I can tell you though, we don't only disagree on the issue of homosexual behavior.

The more modern and tolerant Christians who have taken the essence of Christ's loving and accepting spirit and evolved as time has passed and more is known about the universe are the ones who, to me, are living in His image. But that is simply my belief system, just as it is simply your belief system which interprets the Bible in a different way.

If you are saying that you think that there are "Christians" who think that Christ "accepted" sin, then you are sadly very ignorant of Christianity and what the Bible says Christ said. Christ did indeed love all sinners, and in fact that was who he came to earth for. And if you really believe there is no one truth, then you have studiously ignored the vast majority of the Bible, and can hardly know what a Christian believes. What can I say? You seem totally ignorant of Christianity, and studiously ignore any and all verses put in front of you. When Christ says "I am the way, the truth, and the life", and "No man cometh to the Father except through me", that's quite plain, and I don't know of any Christian who could possibly think differently and still attempt to be called a Christian. If you don't believe that all humans sin much every day in thought, word, and deed, then for you the Bible must seem to be a very strange and foreign book, with little if any meaning for you.

Christine:

<<What you have is a belief system, and I am sincerely glad that gives you comfort. I have a different belief system, and I believe I live a life that is as moral and ethical as yours.>>

Christianity is not primarily about morality or ethics. It is primarily about a relationship with the living God through the Son, Jesus the Christ. Therefore, whether one's ethics or morality is superior or inferior misses the true point of our Faith.

Sincerely, Tom

<<What you have is a belief system, and I am sincerely glad that gives you comfort. I have a different belief system, and I believe I live a life that is as moral and ethical as yours. I do not believe either belief system is superior. I think people get into a lot of trouble when they believe they know The Truth. There is no one truth.>>

This is a prime example of moral relativism. Every one thinks their truth is THE truth. Billions of little gods doing their own thing. "You do your thing, I'll do mine, if ever the twain shall meet, that's cool." What a bunch of hip-liberal gobble-de-gook! There are absolutes, their is a Right and Wrong, for the Bible says it's so.
The question always boils down to: Who is the authority? Who determines what is right or wrong? Moral relativists believe that each individual determines their own right or wrong and as long as you never interfere with anyone else's right or wrong, everything is just peachy. Christians on the other hand, believe that God is the ultimate authority and that his word (the Bible) is the last, only, infallible and divinely-inspired authority. That settles it!

Not on the fence with deep-thinkers, psuedo-intellectuals, or other free-thinking-anything-goes humanists.
