not to mention pestilence, crummy weather, and the fantasies of artists.

You clearly have little respect for the Bible, so why don't you and Christine simply give up attempting to teach Christians how to live their lives? Christians believe the Bible, whereas you and Christine don't, so we don't really have much common ground here for religious beliefs, right? Christians happen to use the Bible in part for the moral guidelines found there. Neither you nor Christine are going to be able to change that.

About churches: overall, there is decreasing church membership and attendance.

Well Charliss, I agree there. I think there has been decreasing attendance for quite a few years. But now many of the people who had never thought much about spirituality are searching for something, God maybe. All I can say is I wish them all the best in their search. I can't pass on to them my own faith in God, but if they are seeking God and open their hearts, they will find God.

It's true that those seeking won't find God in the churches though, as a physical being. The God I believe in "is a spirit, and must be worshipped in spirit". God abides only in the heart of people, not in the timbers of a church building.

Gotta go now, best wishes.
