But lets get to nitty gritty on the short term stock appreciation in IDTI. First, Morgan Stanley was a huge buyer of the stock today. Their name showed up at 13 15/16 bid and they bought the stock up slowly but surely to close it 14 9/16 bid. they were the only bid with at least seven houses on the offer. Also, Morgan has been a big follower of AMD the past year and they do have coverage of IDTI.(I believe they started coverage sometime last year with a hold or neutral rating). This is refreshing to see a new name and a big name in the stock. Also, First Boston was the big accumulator of the stock in the run up earlier this year and I noticed them recomending Dallas Semi today. Maybe an upgrade is in the works especially with AMD and NSM rocketing. Also, the rumor the past few weeks has been that citibank was going to merger with merrill lynch. Well, they instead merged with merrill's competitor Travelers.. Maybe we can have the same misdirected investment scheme for IBM and instead they go against the rumor and invest 500 million in thier man Jim Henry and the C6. IDTI biggest customer is Cisco for communication chips and they compete against Intel in proccesor market. Seems like synergy to me or just wishful thinking.
