VLAD, 500,000 is the number of first time tryers. Users is approx. 45%. The refill rate makes the 45% look suspect. Last quarter, Vivus said wholesalers inventories had increased from 30 days to 40 days. The production decrease was announced by Vivus in Dec. This resulted in 4Q reporting a 26% decrease in revenue. Several weeks ago they announced that production would be maintained at 600,000 units per month for 1Q 98. FYI in July 97, Vivus's production was 750,000 units per month. To the best of my recollection only two lines of production exist at the old plant. The new plant has only one line completed and operational and three lines under construction. Did Nina tell you at what capacity the new line is now running? With the overhead of operating a 90,000 sq. ft. plant vs 6,000 sq. ft. plant, Vivus needs to expand production rapidly to at least 4 lines.. RT
