Crystal Clear
or
The Old Stump

The crystal sat, mired in mud and dirt. It's outline could be seen but some work would have to be done to clear away obstructions. The first and most obvious pieces of garbage could be hauled off fairly easily but the remaining crud was definitely messy. The onset of garbage that had obliterated the crystals outline was unexpected and of great duration. It didn't appear to be letting up either. Concentrating upon the obvious areas of clarity the flow of garbage only served a single purpose, to diminish that clarity.

The crystal was representative of a change in structures. It had seemed a weak and small thing in the beginning but time had slowly built up the shape until it had begun to emerge. Well supported by fundamental underpinnings the crystal had many brilliant facets and as it's value grew, the blackness lurked and plotted.

The attack of filth was relentless. Slowly the crystal became murkier as the filth continued in a never ending stream. The clear and brilliant facets tended to resist the accumulation of garbage by their very nature

The analogy above is fairly simple, if anyone needs clarity I will be happy to point out that the crystal is Crystallex and the blackness is the short attack.
