Janski,

I am convinced Ancor will still be a Billion dollar company.. I am also convinced none of us will own any shares when it happens<g> Too darn early to the party still. If Terry Anderson ends up heading up Brocade I will match my Ancor investment with Brocade IPO stock...eom

Steve

janski, why do I get the impression that you're always worried about Ancor? <g>
Prudent investors would seek to allay their major worries before investing, would they not? Well, I hate to tell you this, but it is too late to be worried now. How come you weren't this worried before you put your money up? If you were, then what on earth did you think you were buying?

I'm frustrated also by Ancor's lack of presence in the current NAB FC media mirage. But this is a meet that Ancor has skipped because it is not Ancor's metier. There's definitely a market for FC in broadcasting, but it is not a chosen market for Ancor. So, despite my enthusiasm for that market, I defer to a sound (hopefully) marketing plan based upon penetrating markets that are available to a high end FC switch product. BA, LIT, SLB are no slouches as clients. Carla's network developed at Cray gives access to big tickets - Aerospace, Defense, Government, to name a few that have a use for the MKII. If you can't win all the battles, fight the ones you can win first, you'll be in a better position to win the war.

I think both Ancor and Brocade miscalculated the FC market. Ancor went high end and Brocade went midrange. Brocade's initial disdain of AL came back to bite them. Neither thought low end AL would lead the charge, and they both got caught by surprise, and neither has achieved their target markets yet. Now Ancor doesn't want to compete in the video house market with competitors whose products are just as good enough, and Brocade would rather stay away from AL if they could but they can't because they're in the same market with those who can do AL. Meanwhile, the media is whipping up a FC feeding frenzy.

All this NAB media hoopla is just that, it didn't affect prices at all. Don't let the dogs and ponies get you upset - Ancor will land something someday. There's plenty for all and some reserved especially for Ancor.

If I were as worried as you, I woulda been outtahere. Masochistic tendencies, janski? Or are you (gasp) attempting to manipulate this stock?
