Christine, you know that you are at least as "self-righteous" as anyone else, in that YOU BELIEVE that YOUR BELIEFS are the RIGHT ONES.

If people were rubbed the wrong way on the Feelings thread because I dared to have beliefs different from them, then who is the bigot, the intolerant, the insensitive, the prejudiced?

I think you know the answer to that, but obviously the answer makes you very uncomfortable, because it goes against your idea that YOU can do no wrong.

Incidentally, does that mean you believe the MAJORITY of people on earth who are not Christians are all going to Hell?

Christine, God is the only righteous judge. It's not for me to judge mankind. For myself, I believe that my own works do not merit eternal life with the heavenly Father. But right now, Christ is in heaven, interceding with the Father on my behalf. This I believe.

And what is hell, Christine? The Bible is the book which gives the original references to hell, and I know you don't like it when I offer scripture. I will however, tell you what I understand "hell" to be: It is a soul spending eternity cut off from the heavenly Father, the omnipotent Creator of the universe, and cut off from His heavenly kingdom. "Hell" then to me sounds like a pretty bleak place to be spending eternity. I'd just much rather somehow be reconciled with the heavenly Father, because I would much prefer to spend eternity with Him, praising, honoring, and worshipping Him, my omnipotent Creator and gracious heavenly Father who loves me.

And thank the Lord, because he has promised that "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whosoever believes on him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." The way to heaven is plain. I want to spend eternity in heaven, eternally in the grace of God.

Incidentally, does that mean you believe the MAJORITY of people on earth who are not Christians are all going to Hell?

"hell" is by definition a religious term, as I was saying. In order for hell to have any meaning, one must believe there is indeed one omnipotent God who created the heavens and the earth, and all that is in them. And if someone believes that much, then why would someone willingly reject His promises?

And if someone doesn't believe in an omnipotent God or his heavenly kingdom which goes on for eternity, then I guess they probably don't worry much about being eternally cut off from such a thing.
