Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS), today at its CSN Worldwide Conference in Boca
Raton, Fla., announced that 20 charter members have joined the
Platinum Solutions Provider program, a new program level within the
Citrix Solutions Network. The Citrix Solutions Network is a
comprehensive channel program, comprised of more than 3,000
value-added resellers, system integrators and distributors who sell
and support WinFrame(R) thin-client/server software worldwide.
The Platinum Solutions Provider Program is designed to deliver
broader and deeper levels of training and support, establishing a
premiere group of value-added resellers and system integrators drawn
from experienced and successful Gold program members of the Citrix
Solutions Network. The Platinum program offers a comprehensive array
of training and support programs to VARs and system integrators that
are highly experienced and committed to Citrix WinFrame
thin-client/server software and the company's upcoming "pICAsso"
project.
Charter members of the Platinum Solutions Provider program
include: Advanced Computer Technologies, Inc., Async Technologies,
Choice Solutions, Ciber Network Services, Computer Tech, Computer
Networks, Inc., IKON Office Solutions Technology Services, Imagecom,
Linc Network Systems, Inc., Madison Technology Group, Micro Visions,
Moose Logic, Inc., National Business Group, Peripheral Innovations,
Peters & Associates, Progressive Network Solutions, Inc., Ryno

WinFrame sales training; 4) priority sales lead assignment; 5)
priority seeding for Citrix beta products; and 6) extended sales and
marketing support.
To qualify for the Citrix Platinum Solutions Provider program, a
reseller must be a Gold Solutions Provider in the Citrix Solutions
Network for one year, meeting the minimum WinFrame software
sell-through, marketing and customer satisfaction criteria. The
reseller must also have a minimum number of full-time WinFrame
software-trained technicians and sales professionals on staff.
In addition to the Platinum Solutions Provider category, the
Citrix Solutions Network includes three other levels of participation
to facilitate the widespread distribution of WinFrame
thin-client/server software. Value-added resellers and system
integrators can select among the Gold Solutions Provider and Silver
Solutions Provider Programs. Additionally, technology consultants can

You have to be very nimble playing the shorting game with CTXS. As you know Roger, this stock can turn on a dime and go up or down 3-4 points in 15 minutes. This is especially true when it has been changing a lot but on small volumes. I look at big changes (especially down) on small volumes as being buying opportunities.

I think what we're seeing now is a reaction to what the DOJ may do to MSFT. This may delay Win 98, NT 5.0 etc. The latter may actually be quite beneficial to CTXS since any new product (eg Hydra) may result in a temporary slowdown in pICAsso sales while managers are evaluating the new product.
