Advisory Board

TORONTO, ONTARIO--

Mr. Don MacAdam reports:

Tm Bioscience has increased the size of its Scientific Advisory
Board to nine external members with the appointment of six
prominent scientists:

R. Christopher Bleackley, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of
Biochemistry at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. He is a
cellular biochemist and an expert on human disease and human gene
therapy. Jerrie Gavalchin, PhD, is a Professor in the Department
of Medicine at the State University of New York, Syracuse. She is
an immunologist with particular expertise on immuno assay design
and cellular immunology. J. Michael Schurr, PhD, is a Professor in
the Department of Chemistry at the University of Washington, in
Seattle. He is an expert on DNA sequence dependent polymorphic
structure and dynamics in solution. Nadrian C. Seeman, PhD, is a
Professor in the Department of Chemistry at New York University.
He is an expert on DNA sequence dependent structure and molecular
nanotechnology using DNA. Richard D. Sheardy, PhD, is a Professor
and Chairman of the Department of Chemistry at Seton Hall
University. He is an expert on DNA sequence dependent structure
and synthesis of model compounds that bind DNAs. Roger M. Wartell,
PhD, is a Professor and Head of the School of Biology at the
Georgia Institute of Technology. He is an expert on DNA
thermodynamics, sequence dependent cooperativity, stability and
processing.

These scientists join existing members: Jonathan B. Chaires, PhD,
an expert on DNA thermodynamics and DNA/ligand interactions;
Donald Low, MD, a bacteriologist and clinician and an expert on
human infectious disease; and Bernard J. Poiesz, MD, a virologist
and clinician and expert on human retroviruses.

Tm Bioscience Corporation is a biotechnology company based in
Toronto, Ontario, with a subsidiary Tm Technologies Inc. in
Woburn, Massachusetts. The company has developed five platform
technologies - biochips, therapeutics, gene expression,
