Can the margin interest be deducted from regular interest on sched B?

Where does this margin interest show up? I have an item 1E, "Investment Expenses," on my 1099, but don't know if that's margin interest or what it is. The back of the form says that this item 1E (whatever it is) must be included in the "other expenses" line on Schedule A, which is subject to the 2% limit (and thus worthless for 99.9999999999% of people).
