One point I would make about today's press release is that it mentions that Mazda will now be participating in the Alliance through it's close association with Ford. Mazda has had their fuel cell program for awhile and even has a demo fuel cell car. It's on their website for those interested. There has been some speculation that Ford was unlikely to run 2 separate fuel cell efforts once they teamed with BLD and this seems to indicate that. Mazda may have something to contribute to the effort, perhaps on the hydrogen storage side. My guess is that Mazda's efforts will be rolled in to the Alliance eventually. Note that BLD is NOT touting this as their Asian partner that has been anticipated. Therefore, it'll be someone else such as Honda or Nissan in all likelihood.
