This stock is really not looking like one that is going to announce great earnings. Trading at the low of the day even thought the market has started top recover a little.

I wonder if once again the smart money knows something we don't.

What are you talking about??? I am f*^ing worried now. We are heading toward 35. This just sucks. Seems like the air is coming out. Every single time I get in to $$$ with this stock, it happens again. This just sucks!!!! I should have unloaded at 39 and change. Will I get that chance by Thursday?

Just some thoughts - no data.

The stock might not make 40 this week. But if you're long the stock, don't sweat it. ASND is just drifting with the rest of the NASDAQ.

So an analyst predicted that tech stock would go down, so they're going down. I mean, if investors/traders think that either the tech's are going to go down or that others think so (and thus will sell), then they might sell. Sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I think that most folks had their pre-earnings Ascend positions lined up by the end of last week. I don't think we'll see a meaningful move in ASND price until after Q1 earnings are announced. Then, if Ascend makes or exceeds 0.25, some of the sceptics will be reassured enough to bid the stock up; others I think will wait for one more quarter, unless Q1 earning are very good.

I'm not in love with this stock, but right now it is my longest position, all in LEAPs. So, Im hoping for a run-up too. I just don't think it will be this week, unless the NASDAQ leads the way.

My 2 cents, FWIW.

Tim,

Do you see this stock will trade up to 40-42 range next week? IMHO, I think this one should trade around 42.5 by next Monday. With good prospects about the future, it may trade up to 46-48 range. Some of the announcement that I want to hear from the management heading into the conference call next week:

1. The 56K modems become ITU standard(modem-products-related accounts more than 50% of ASCEND's revenue)
2. The risk exposure to the Asian's crisis is minimal; while being offsets by the growth in Europe.
3. Confident to meet this fiscal year estimates.
4. Top this quarter's earning estimate by .03(my guessing #)
5. Willing to negotiate for the acquisition/merger if the price is right?

Regards,

jnguyen
