So far, the bugfixes and improvements are minor. The bugfixes enable the code to be compiled under a variety of environments, and stop crashes under certain conditions. The improvements are also minor so far, and not "centralized," just individual hacks that people have put in. Here's a sample message from one of the newsgroups to give you a flavor of what's going on:
