James, VSH will be assuming a debt load here, but the company has
the financing to make a billion dollar acquisition (according
to what Dr. Zandman said at the last annual meeting). The company
then made a 300 mill. acquisition, subtracting the sale of parts
of Temic to others. So, the company was being pretty conservative
financially, since it could have swallowed an even bigger
fish if the price were right. Also, from the perspective of the
small long term investor, VSH chose to pay cash rather than
dilute shares, which I prefer.
