i would be glad to sell you a saturn for $30,000 and how about some share of informix of $14 a share?

i havent read the entire thread but Steven Farber is on the right track. After travelling extensively to some of the software development centers in Europe like Dublin, Scandinavia and Eastern Eurpope there is a tremendous amount of creativity and opportunity there. First of all it would be impossible to prevent code from being sent there when you can simply zap it there. I bet the vast majority of netscape source code requests came from overseas - also they are tremendous markets for us software companies like informix and oracle.

lets not forget that many high tech companies are led by immigrants or 1 generation removed- andrew grove, echkard pfeiffer, charles wang, larry ellison (ellis island - get it?). BOttom line the US way is the best way and thats open markets and ideas. I cant guess where Phil White comes from but he seems to have taken the wasp way of making money (inherit it or steal it via white collar crime). Bill Gates is the exception to this rule since he was created in a laboratory.
