It's one thing to spit out a flip remark like I did, it's quite another to justify it and it would admittedly require a lot of work. However, I would suggest that the burden lies on the bulls to argue that Enamelon can succeed when the odds lay overwhelmingly against them. I've been short this thing on and off the past year, but I've always had a problem finding shares, and it just became no longer worth it to continually scrounge around for them. In any event, I don't have all facts at my disposal at the moment, and don't care enough to get them right now (just being honest here). In any case, I would have boned up on details had I been able to get shares today, but again they weren't available, c'est la vie. The press release from yesterday acknowledged that the sales didn't materialize like their business plan predicted, and that's just the first chip in the facade. In fact, one of the bulls arguments was that the company had so far executed their business plan perfectly, and so it was reasonable to expect them to continue to do so (the bull's argument)- well, now it doesn't seem like that line can be used again so easily. In brief, you have a company trying to push a product in one of the most competitive consumer products categories which is at the same time hobbled in their abilities to tout their alleged superiority- data is weak, they used substantial rebates on the product in my area to get a toe in (no wonder they had glowing sales), dentists with whom I've spoken are skeptical, they will need substantially more funds for a product roll out, Fox has been selling shares like a fiend, the CEO is prone to hype, they have a very active PR dept. geared toward investors (not customers), carries is not the issue it once was and people are more interested in the vanity pastes or else they'll take Total etc, the company won't turn in a profit for years (so says the company), and on and on and on....
That's just off the top of my head.
