Even if CPQ has everything prebuilt except the motherboard and all the cards that fit into it <VBG!>, it still needs to burn in, and test (unless it plans to build total schlock) and ship the machines.

I assure you,
Every Box builder has machines built tested and ready to go.
That is the way the industry works.
The machines are up and running in R&D offices around the world.

BTW,
Has anyone seen preformance comps PC100 to PC 66 ?
Anyone have a Link ?
I don't know how fast these thing really are.

Paul, do you think that assuming (just assume) Jim's argument is correct, that CPQ would actually put more PCs in the channel. Especially one's which run the risk of cannibalizing the upper-end PCs already in the channel?
