General Comment on the poor quality of discourse on this thread... Discourse is not a discussion, but rather a conversation. A discussion is an evaluation of opinions. An argument is a way to dominate. The activity being practiced on this thread bears more resemblance to dominance behavior than either discourse or discussion. Why is it important that Rocky is right or wrong? Or that a particular person's immature reasoning is valid or invalid. Or that a pompous statement (like mine) is accurate? there are lots of personalities on this thread. There is a way for all to coexist in a rational way...That way is tolerance and silence. My advice... If a particular post is really off target, ignore it and move on. Concentrate on posts of substance. Concentrate on building relationships. Avoid conflict and ego. Its not profitable or an efficient use of your time. When you get into bull/bear arguments, letting your personality or enthusiasm get the better of you makes for more lively reading. But the reader should not take umbrage to every little itty bitty statement. Ask for clarification. Don't bash the personality. It is very similar to the management statement, Focus on the problem, not the person. Sorry about pontificating. BL ps stockbull, not directed at you specifically. HOWEVER, your last two posts implied an unspecified investment objective that you assumed everyone shared. Yes, everyone has a need for a positive ROI, but the timeframe you work with is undisclosed. Warren Buffet has a negative ROI on KO when he first purchased it via put options. But you see how the discussion gets bogged down in minutiae instead of concentrating on the pillars of corporate governance : strategy, marketing, production, distribution, core competency, industrial scanning, and finance.
