<At the point of maximum pessimism, it will be time to BUY.>

I'm long as of today, and intend to continue to nibble further if it goes any lower. Reading these posts and the press, I can't fathom any more pessimistic view of Big Tobacco. Cramer compares the industry to Communism. The government from every branch-judicial, executive, legislative, federal & state-condemns the industry and circle like vultures. The popular press and WSJ treat it like trailer trash.

Sounds maximally pessimistic to me, and I'm getting in for the long haul, slowly. 4% yield in undervalued out-of-favor industry is going to look tasty in the rear view mirror a few years out.

Regards, dper

Robert, FYI (I used to be a broker), but brokerage firms very seldom use the word "sell". Generally, most times a brokerage firm downgrades to "neutral" or "hold", it is a veiled "sell". I am looking to enter MO, feel it is a solid company, and feel that a few select politicians see a righteous soapbox to mount. Tobacco is a cash crop which has existed from the inception of this country, or thereabouts. It provides enormous $$$ to state and federal coffers. People should be allowed to make their own decisions re these products, and government should not force it down our throats. This from someone who doesn't use tobacco products and doesn't like them.
