Dell's prospects for growth are still in tact, I agree. However,
50%+ growth in an arena which is competitive to begin with
can't continue forever, and it will not. Can others imitate the
"Direct Model"? Not right away and indeed CPQ is only in the
first steps of moving toward that model. So whereas the solid growth
and revenue will continue, maintaining the same percentage of growth,
year over year, will not be possible. To grow 50% in one year and
continue the same 50% growth in a subsequent year, a company must
actually grow 225% of the first year's revenue! How long can this
continue? Forever? Certaintly not.
