Rocky, Even though I no longer hold any position in IOM, I still
enjoy reading your informative and educational posts. IF/WHEN
IOM folds/is acquired I hope that you move to another company's
thread and continue to share your research/opinions/wit with us.

Glad to see you finally signing your posts correctly. Since you signed that way, we'll start to address you that way. Look Moron, not everyone is aware of the reference you slip in that implies that "Beta SP" is different from (consumer)Betamax.

>>I clearly stated Beta SP (which clearly differentiates it from the >>cosumer Beta format, and digi-Beta as well) in my reply. I clearly >>stated that the machines were expensive, and the profit margins were >>obscene.

>>>>subject is brought up, Sony has scored a home run in the >>>>professional field with the Beta format. Chances are, anytime you >>>>see a pre-recorded TV show, you are watching a feed off a Beta >>>>SP tape.Expensive Beta SP machines (and now digi-Beta) are

Gee, no confusion intended here. As long as the reader is a video professional. Beta format(as you call it)is not a format. It's Betacam.
Check for yourself:
sel.sony.com

Oh, another thing - SP refers to a type of machine and tape. The more expensive machines will do nearly identical performance with much less expensive oxide tape. So "chances are" it's oxide, not SP.

>>Oh, and one thing, Betacams (the actual camera you see news crews >>with) are closer to $100,000-- Not $40,000. Beta SP DECKS are
>>from $10,000 to $40,000.

The BVV5 docking Betacam deck can be had for under $20,000. A decent 3 chip camera with lens starts at $10,000. Most news crews don't go for the $70,000 Ikegami cameras.

The above URL also shows you in error in thinking that "Betacams"
are camcorders. Betacam is clearly a format, not a camcorder.

To quote you, "In the future, when you choose to try and correct me, make sure you are able comprehend what I write." You might check to see what Sony writes before you go shooting your mouth off.

If you weren't so abrasive, it wouldn't be so much fun to show you where you are wrong.

Go ahead and reply with another rude attacking response, I'm done wasting time on you for a while.
