The news can be looked at in 2 ways.

1. Bullish - This reduces the # of outstanding shares and is therefore beneficial to the remaining shareholders

2. Bearish - We have more people who are very eager to bail out. They prefer to have 180765 shares now rather than 4 times the # of shares in the future. I think "age and declining health" is only an excuse. It might mean that they are expecting a sharp drop. The 180765 shares should hit the market as soon as they are issued.

I am more inclined to the second view (possibly because my opinion might be biased).

ALTIF is trading in a narrow range with very low average daily volume. I am expecting that this news release will be ignored too. (It hit the newswires before the close and had no effect). I am very optimistic of seeing a sharp downward move with much larger than average volume (sometime in the future).

Regards,
Rajiv
