yes amd reported much lower than anticipated earnings. however in after hours trading stock was last seen up. reason ? because company indicated that sales of their "k" chip is surging in huge numbers. this is the chip used in the sub $1,000.00 computer. may i remind everyone that cpq is the LEADER IN THIS AREA.could it be that the strategy of lower computer prices is working ? is it possible that the radio shack deal is kicking in ? if amd can make a statement to analysts that they expect sales of the sub-$1,000's chips to substantially increase,they must be getting the orders in.sellling more chips means someone is selling more boxes. i believe in a weird way this announcement bodes very well for cpq. tommorow should be interesting. al
