I went with strangle. Why would you think it would go down tomorrow instead of up? Half of all wafers are on .25 and amd is shipping 300MHz parts. It probably would go up from now on..... :-))

mark,

My financial data only goes back 6 years but AMD's earnings today are by far their biggest loss in 25 quarters! This may be their worse quarter in the company's history. Does anyone have data going back further??

Regarding the "predictable cycle":

Yes, it is repeating as usual but the short term will probably be positive for AMD as suckers (and repeat suckers) jump on board on promises of a better "NEXT" quarter. Remember, Jerry's motto has always been that "next quarter will be better...trust me". Remember, a few quarters ago this was suppose to be a great quarter <GG>. So the cycle will is repeating like clockwork but AMD usually gets as high as the high 30's or even low 40's before the sucker rally ends....then back to the teens it will go.

Of course AMD backers will try and put a positive pointing to the future, which of course simply holds more losses. With negative earnings 6 out of the last 8 quarters and the last quarter being the biggest disaster of all, it takes quite an imagination to put a positive spin on things....but these guys are quite imaginative <gg>.

I don't know what INTC will report this quarter but in one quarter alone they will generate more EPS then AMD has in the last 11 quarters combined. This is pretty damn amazing.
