And I think you are wrong when you say that the majority of Christians don't believe that the Bible is the unadultered word of God. How would you or anyone begin to tabulate this conclusion?

I haven't, but lots of others have. As I've said, I was raised a Presbyterian, and we didn't take the Bible as the literal Word of God. Neither does any other mainstream Protestant religion. Nor do the Catholics.

The Bible as the Literal Word is the province of "born again" Christians, and probably not all of them, either (does Jimmy Carter REALLY take it word for word? I doubt it).

Are you genuinely unaware of this?
