PowerTV to Port Sun Microsystems' PersonalJava
Technology to the PowerTV Operating System

PowerTV To Add Java Application Development Environment Choice for
Two-Way Interactive Set-Top Boxes

CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 1998-- PowerTV, Inc. announced today
that it will port Sun Microsystems, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:SUNW - news) PersonalJava(TM) platform
to the PowerTV(R) Operating System (OS). By porting Sun's PersonalJava technology, PowerTV
plans to open the door for developers to create Java(TM) applets and applications that can run on
two-way interactive set-top boxes such as the Scientific-Atlanta Explorer(R) 2000.

''Our goal is to make the PowerTV OS a foundation for exciting new applications that generate
revenue for cable operators. Porting Sun's PersonalJava environment to our OS makes the
development of information and entertainment applications for television much easier,'' said Bow
Rodgers, COO of PowerTV. ''The nine major cable operators that have stated their intent to
deploy set-tops using the PowerTV OS (PowerTV announcement: January 26, 1998) can now
have the option of taking advantage of Java technology-based TV applications and applets.''

''Sun is delighted that PowerTV has joined the growing list of companies supporting the
PersonalJava platform,'' said Jim Mitchell, vice president of technology architecture at JavaSoft, a
business unit of Sun Microsystems, Inc. ''We believe the expanding market for two-way
interactive set-top boxes creates a huge opportunity for Java software developers to reach a new
audience. PowerTV OS coupled with the PersonalJava platform represents an exciting
combination for the Java technology industry.''

''The PersonalJava platform is designed specifically for memory constrained network-connected
devices. The small memory footprint of the PowerTV operating system combined with the
PersonalJava platform enables this design to run on low-cost two-way digital set-top boxes. In
addition, the port of the PersonalJava platform to our system strengthens our OpenCable
compliant offering,'' said Dr. Ken Morse, CTO of PowerTV.

Those sold shares are shares that were from a large order that was broken up into three smaller sales.
I don't know why they are called 'large trade sold'.
Maybe you're right and they were sold to me as a short???
But I know what these sales consist, because I was the buyer of those 15K shares divided in precisely that way.
I don't understand why it was the only instance of the day. Smith Barney was the broker...

I noticed that too many of the sales took place at the ask.
This is why I wanted a quote history posted.

Perhaps not all the sales are being logged?

Perhaps they know some that sellers are lurking?

I think it is the latter. Have seen this many times in stocks
where there is convertible debt overhang.
