>>>you were being disingenuous.

Figured your tone meant this and I wanted to respond in post haste but refrained, i am not offended by any of your comments, if i felt that i had stretched the truth or something and you gave a harsh rebuttal I'd desrve it. But I only speak facts when I know them and sometimes
speak jibberish with the TA stuff. When I talk westell I have a pretty good idea of the inside scoop ( most often based on solid facts) bacause of the people I talk to there ( however too many have left WSTL with few to talk to now I am afraid).

>>csco/netspeed would get a shot at gte ... with coming dmt motorola based

Csco losing is a bit of an eyebrow raiser, but the real deployment is probably a ways off yet. WSTL and CSCO and ALA all will get the second shot.

Is Mot that far behind? Seems they might be ahead if the current silicon mask is good. The tests at WSTL aren't gooing so bad and the TI answer is still ...UMMmm...almost ready.

>>orctf as a frame relay vs atm solution...
>>>one likely explanation for the frame relay solution (if true) was that it was developed/tailored for gte

This is it as far as I have been able to figure out, when GTE wanted a frame relay solution, Orckit went after it but WSTL had no part of it
( too much R&D spending already and no way to accomodate). WSTL is purely entrenched in an ATM solution to ADSL at the CO.

>>> In addition, Orckit's investment in the DSL fast modem field increased

The push to get the deal done costs money. however, they are in great shape at the cost level for per line costs. WSTL is way high here and CSCO has to bet totally on Netspeed for the cost reduction,
ALA would be the most formidable cost opponent. Consider that Orckit's 2 line solution is working now vs. others not and the future silicon cost reduction is due Q3 vs. others ( outside of MOT) probably Q4.

>>>(tho gte could provide a real pop

I don't follow this because GTE is known, right? given the UBS info, I cannot see a press release helping a whole bunch for the in-the-know traders and It is not a contract to be excited about. The rollout is too llimited short term.

>>>personally have been averaging in for about a year now...

GOOD IDEA, don't ever be swayed by my stupid quick buck trading mentality that I have perfected over the last 15 years into a total return of .6% annualized!!!!! Pretty impressive, huh?! Well it ain't that bad, I don't want to say I can't call em or your gonna leave the stock for sure! But I do play the tech stuff heavy and when this one didn't break out in this trading frenzy, I was surprised. But, after a few trading days I understand (I think) more clearly, although that doesn't help my stuck position. Liking this companies' future does though and should give me an opportunity to hold for the next up cycle.

Thanks for the info and keep 'em comin' savo (savvy?) and my professional experience with Finns and Svedes has only been enlightening -- they always seemed so content, so damned easy going, so well UN-uptight!! I wish I knew how it was done in my world?!
