we will be right on Internet stocks eventually.

Roger, quite agree! And I hope one needs not wait much longer with most of the internet stocks. IMHO, it is time to short PTVL and short it good.

Regards,

Tom

Roger,

Your comments suggest that, contrary to some previous posts, our "models" have suffered from excessive simplicity, not undue complexity. We have been missing variables (e.g., group psychology, personal emotions) and our (my)lag structures have been consistently wrong. One would have thought that highly educated, finely honed analytical minds could figure that out. But alas.... <vbg>

P.S. I don't think it fair to lay these shortcomings at the door of higher education!

RE Engineers Picking Stocks

I agree. The one thing I have learned in the past year is to be prepared to have to wait a year in order to be prooven right. I am coming to the realization that I won't be able to take a shot at every short, but I will be able to make good money off the ones I do.

The beauty of it is the oppurtunity cost of shorting is zero, so I can wait a year. Unlike the fellows buying on margin.
