Since the number of shares outstanding determine earning per share calculation, the EPS growth rate is significant. If you look at comparative diluted shares from previous year to this year 33,338 (000)to 41,528, respectively, and compare quarterly earning from last year to this year the differences are significant. 3Q98 .15ct on 41,465 shares outstanding to 3Q97 of .09 to 33,446. Growth rate continues even with increase players and price competition.
