<<Help. Hadji! Help!
Straight from the archives of "Johnny Quest," comes the writchwatch that nobody needs. It was cool to watch Johnny, Hadji, Race and Dr. Quest communicate back and forth with their high-tech timepieces. But beyond the ephemeral preadolescent appeal of such a device, it's questionable who would want such a novelty.

Seiko believes consumers will want high-tech watches and announced that it will sell PC wristwatches starting June 10 in Japan. With a 16-bit CPU and 128 KB of main memory, this is more than a fancy Tamagotchi. What will run on this watch? Why, three Microsoft apps of course. Would you have it any other way? But with a $280 price tag plus, the new technology may be a hard sell in the U.S.

The announcement had little effect on Microsoft's stock Wednesday morning, but the software maker gained 1 5/16 to 88 9/16 regardless.
