In my mind there are two kinds of facilities that BFIT is competing with, what I call health clubs, which include swimming pools, whirlpools, maybe racketball or tennis and what I think of as 'gyms' with the aerobic & weight equipment only. Around here, the health clubs, I know of 8 within 20 minutes drive from me, charge from $30/mo to $80/mo. The gyms, in almost every major shopping area, charge less, maybe $20/mo (I didn't check them as thoroughly).

Now BFIT wants to eliminate pools and racketball areas to keep costs down, that means they will be more directly competing with the gyms at the lower end of the price scale. Gut feel says they will lose potential customers to the lower price gyms if they cut facilities.
I see that as a no win situation for them.

>>turn on your tv and calculate the ratio of home excersice equipment adds to BFT ads<<

I remember when I was in high school Balleys was known locally as Chicago Health Clubs. Let me tell you, they had Sheila Easton (I think it was her) doing aerobics and curling dumb bells in the most awesome outfit...little more than a 6 inch skirt and halter top. I can remember it like it was yesterday. It gave me a stomach ache just watching the commercials. Way too much for a 16-17 year old to handle.

Whew, ummm...sorry just thought I'd mention it. OK, my point: I think BFT is a good short as long as they don't bring Sheila back.<gg>
