Thank you David from Metricom for posting. Although you are appropriately doubtful of some of the claims for the MEME technology, and since you are well-versed in any limitatiions of Metricom technology, it makes sense that you doubt anyone else can 'do it better' even if it is only in some small select aspect of the technology. On the other hand, it is of course to your great advantage if you can pick up any good data re: MEME technology, and even what you consider the slight chance that this exists, is well worth your time here.

I am not a 'believer' or a seer. I am convinced that Intersurf will in a matter of weeks offer a service in Baton Rouge based on MEME technology. Despite claims of huge bandwidths, I think the initial offering will be near ISDN speeds but at much lower prices than ISDN with much lower equipment costs. Exactly how well the service will work I do not know. But the above is what i have some degree of confidence in.

Is Metricom currently offering such service in any location? How is it working?

Thanks for all your help and openness. Of course your identity will keep most here suspicious of everything yuo say, but we should all be careful with all the rest of us anyway, right?
