I think I'm starting to get the picture. I was under the impression from the ads placed in the Wall Street Journal that the SuperDisk was jut a plain 120 MB floppy disk that worked on plain, old 3.5" disk drives.

Apparently, I'm wrong.

It looks like the SuperDisk is actually a drive, much like the Zip...so you're right, just more competition. Had it just been a plain floppy disk with 120 MB, then the story would have changed entirely(which is along the lines I was thinking).

By circumventing the need for the Zip drive by developing a 120 MB disk that's compatible with a plain 3.5" disk drive, I was thinking Imation had pulled a coup, and that it would only be a matter of time before Iomega would go out of business.

But I misinterpreted the ads. Iomega will live on, and so will The Motley Fools.

(I wonder if any others had looked at it the same way.)
