Gym fees.
A buddy just enrolled in BFT and he paid $500 for 3 year and after that he will pay something like 8-10 a month (he is fatter and sicker so he has to workout, but the location is little too far for him to go regularly, I guess). In Southern Calif. that is too much. 24Hour Fitness is about 3/5 that cost and LA Fitness is about 4/5 and almost the same facilities. In general Southern Calif. is dirt cheap compared to other places in USA (I guess).
Spectrum chain w/ pool seems to charge $50 a month (that what they quoted 2 yrs ago but may be less now) or less but they are the cream of the crop and if I am rich I will move to Spectrum.
Also there are a lot of small gyms w/ special owner care and program. Also a small chain for women only advertised by Linda Evan.
Couple years ago some dumb investors open 2 mega gyms in Irvine just to see them fold down.

As I see not many can stick to a regular work out. (Life so busy) and the next round of laid-off will dampen memberships, I guess. In Calif. I see only S/W engineers make money, 6 mos. from now I see a lot of laid off in SJose for EE, technicians (computers and components are dirt cheap now, most report loss or no growth, only exec. pocket millions in stocks) and Aerospace workers (Asia can not afford more cell phones or others).

A question today: I have IRA acc. w/ Nat' Discount and put order to buy sigm at 3 1/2, slow to execute, so changed it and put another buy again at 3 1/2. I thought only 3K went thru. Later during the day it showed I bot 6K but somehow they sold 3K at 3 3/4, and it seemed they credited $750 for me. But they took away the 3k overbought.
I think they have no right to sell 3K at 3 3/4 and no right to take away 3K since it was higher after I bot and closed higher than 3 3/4.
I will call early tomorrow. And this sucker broker made me lost couple hundreds. Have to move to Datek soon. When ever my errors caused loss I bear. When I gain they enjoy. Any idea?
