Maurice,

You are probably right, but I was not wrong in my postings. I sold at 61 last Thursday, just avoiding the uncertainties. Anyway, I agree for the long-term holder, the fundamentals matter most. I like the fact that there are many points of view on a given thread, because whatever works for making money must be considered.

Personally, I am looking at statistically based short-term trading strategies in large cap domestic stocks at the moment. It hasn't made me rich, but it did get me out of MOT at 61 (in at 55) and out of INTC at 93 (in at 77).

Anyway, I think there may be a bit more blood-letting tomorrow, as AMD missed their number slightly (0.17 vs 0.19), and there is growing disenchantment with technologies driven by the realization that the Asia problems go more than skin deep. MOT has fallen a bit off the technology curve in wireless, and has invested heavily in a new technology (Iridium) and this will only pan out on the longer term.

The best hope short term is that the CEO will re-organize the company effectively without blowing some of the basic strengths of the company apart. An interesting challenge and one to watch. I will likely own and sell MOT a few more times in the months and years ahead, (tradning is fun) but I think it is a company in transition at the moment.

Good Hunting,
GENE
