AMD was up after earnings announcement... perhaps the fact that its hemorraging $$$$ makes it more likely that the rumored strategic alliance with IBM will take place.... or perhaps its boomers saving for retirement stumbling over one another to invest in a co that has consistently failed to generate profits.... Japan's up also.... apparently on a whiff of a middle class tax cut... that's going to stimulate domestic demand... GIVE ME A BREAK... fifty years of SAVING by design is going to be changed by shaving a few yen of the tax bill... IN FACT ALL THAT WILL HAPPEN IS THAT GOVT SPENDING WILL DECLINE AND DEMMAND WILL DECLINE STILL FURTHER... Hey JTCHKID... have you noticed that everybody likes to take the piss of u when you're wrong, yet nobody congratulates u when you're right. CONGRATULATIONS... u must have done when the last couple of dayzzz... I wish u well.

FYI on the subject of MSDW and Mr. Biggs.... how's this for a position... Mr. Briggs is calling a depression in Japan.... MSDW upgraded ABX on MONDAY and yet it is along with GSCO and LEH the biggest supporter of AMAT in the MKT right now... What's right with this picture.....

OH and on the subject of delirious market moves... check out bloomberg tonite... South Korea has just issued $3 Billion worth of bonds in the US and the issue is expected to be recieved enthusiastically.... I guess MSDW will be buying them for their clients... in spite of their opinion that Japan (by far the biggest player in the SEA markets) is sinking into depression... THE THINGS PEOPLE DO WITH OTHER PEOPLES $$$$

Barton Biggs, boy that's one postive person <g>

He probably has been 100% cash since the DOW was overvalued at 3,000.
