Hi Joe,

Although I'm a NOVL old timer I've been in this thread
only for a few weeks. So I am afraid I will bring up
something that may be you guys have already discussed
extensively. Indeed, I would like to discuss the proposition
that NOVL should start a stock buy back program.

I think that this makes sense for a number of reasons:

a) NOVL does have the cash, and a relatively small scale program,
say 100 million dollars, would, at these depressed levels, be very significant.

b) It would signal to the investment community that NOVL thinks
that the stock is undervalued at these levels.

c) It would not hamper future acquisitions which could be done
using the stock as proxy for cash. Moreover, I am sure that NOVL
needs to buy stock anyway for its options and pensions programs.

There is no need to bring up here one more time that
the poor performance of the stock is legendary. Like
many here I believe that Dr Schmidt has brought a new
focus and new hopes of a turnaround. While the philosophical
and technological aspects of his strategy seem fine the
financial details of its implementation are still murky.
I think it is about time for Dr Schmidt to step up to the
plate and declare that he believes in the financial future
of his (our) company.

I think this could give NOVL the momentum it badly needs to get
going again..

Look forward to your comments.

Best

Victor
