ISS is a good company and its Internet Scanner product is the market share leader in security auditing and assessment solutions. Unlike Axent or Intrusion Detection (SDTI's recent acquisition), they employ a remote-probe network layer type architecture vs. the manager-agent host based architecture of AXNT or IDI. Actually both have their disadvantages and advantages and the ideal solution is to deploy them both. Not enough room here to go into the details but there was an excellent article in the March 16th issue of Infoworld which reviewed the leading products in this space. ISS is behind Axent in the network monitoring market, but still is a strong player. Hope this helps Bulldozer
